The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the buzz of excited conversation filled the air in Snoqualmie, Washington, as Arete Coffee Bar celebrated the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for their second North Bend location on September 12, 2025. Though the new shop at The Line Bike Experience (1130 E. North Bend Way) has been serving customers since January, the ceremonial opening marked a significant milestone for owners Meghan and David Schumacher, who established their first location at Pro Ski and Mountain Service in 2022.
The Schumachers, who also own Freestone Collective in Snoqualmie, attribute their growing success to the unwavering support of local patrons. “We’re happy to be here, and we wouldn’t still be in business without all the support from the community,” David Schumacher emphasized during the ceremony. His heartfelt words resonated with attendees as he added, “Everyone here is why it happens and why we’re still going and still serving lattes and breakfast sandwiches.” This genuine appreciation for community patronage underscores the relationship that has fueled Arete’s expansion in the Valley.

The new Arete location offers customers more than just exceptional coffee—it provides an experience enhanced by its unique setting within The Line Bike Experience. As the Schumachers cut the ceremonial ribbon, surrounded by well-wishers and loyal customers, the backdrop of Mount Si created a distinctly Northwest atmosphere that perfectly complements their locally-focused business model. The spacious venue features both indoor seating and an expansive outdoor area, providing coffee enthusiasts with multiple options to enjoy their favorite beverages.
Following the formal ribbon-cutting festivities, the celebration continued into the evening with live music performances in the venue’s backyard area. Guests enjoyed their espresso drinks while taking in impressive views of Mount Si, creating a perfect blend of community, culture, and coffee. This combination exemplifies how Arete has successfully created not just a coffee shop but a gathering place where Valley residents can connect. The expansion from their original location to this second space demonstrates how community patronage has directly translated into business growth—a testament to both the quality of their offerings and the loyalty of local customers.
