Snoqualmie families officially kicked off summer fun this past weekend with the grand opening of the long-awaited Splash Pad at Snoqualmie Community Park. After years of planning, the community celebrated as the Eastside’s newest water play area opened its jets on Friday, June 6, 2025, bringing with it laughter, excitement, and a refreshing way to beat the heat.
Located at 35016 SE Ridge Street, the splash pad debuted with a joyful opening ceremony from 2 to 4 p.m., attended by city officials, families, and eager children ready to get wet. Mayor Katherine Ross, along with City Councilmembers and city staff, led the ceremonial “first splash,” activating the park’s Pacific Northwest-themed water features for the first time.
“This splash pad represents more than just water play,” Mayor Ross said during the event. “It reflects Snoqualmie’s commitment to creating inclusive, family-friendly spaces where our community can thrive.”
PNW-Themed Water Play Brings Imagination to Life
Visitors were treated to a variety of imaginative and interactive water features, inspired by the Pacific Northwest’s natural beauty and local folklore. Highlights included:
-
Ground-level water jets that erupted in playful bursts
-
Friendly animal sprays in the shape of frogs and clams
-
A towering Sasquatch statue that quickly became a favorite photo-op
-
A massive dump bucket that soaked squealing kids below
Children explored with glee while parents watched comfortably from shaded areas nearby, thankful for the splash pad’s zero-depth design that keeps play safe and accessible for all ages.
The splash pad also utilizes a recycled and treated water system, ensuring environmental responsibility and compliance with all health and safety standards.
Summer Hours and Features
Now open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., the splash pad has already become a go-to destination for local families. Its location within Snoqualmie Community Park means there’s plenty to do before or after splash time, including:
-
Free parking and clean restrooms
-
Open lawns and picnic spots
-
Nearby coffee shops, restaurants, and ice cream are within walking distance
The splash pad was designed with accessibility in mind, ensuring visitors of all abilities can fully enjoy the water features and amenities.
A Vision Fulfilled for Snoqualmie Families
The weekend’s opening marked a significant milestone in Snoqualmie’s recreation story. The project stemmed from community feedback during city planning sessions, where families overwhelmingly expressed a desire for more youth-friendly summer amenities. With this project now complete, Snoqualmie adds yet another vibrant public space to its growing list of parks and outdoor venues.
For many parents, the new splash pad filled a gap in local recreation, and judging by the weekend turnout, it’s already a hit.
